8 week Combo Class: Handbuilding & Wheel

Join our combo class and learn the full spectrum of ceramic techniques! In this class you will explore the fundamentals of both handbuilding and wheel throwing.
You’ll learn to create pots using methods like pinching, coiling, slab construction and wheel throwing. You'll also learn some basic concepts using several of these techniques together to form truly unique pieces!
This class is the perfect opportunity to learn the entire process of pottery, from shaping and forming to finishing your creations. All experience levels are welcome, so come get your hands dirty and find your bliss! For ages 15+

This class will run for eight weeks, 2.5 hours per week starting on March 24th and ending on May 19th. (Please note there will be no classes during the week of April 27th-May 2nd).
This class is an all levels class, so it's great for beginners and seasoned potters alike! Please note, there are no make-ups for missed classes. However, as a student, you are encouraged to come in during open studio hours (which are included in the price of the class) and practice what you have learned.

Tool kit for new students
Class shelves to keep wet work in between classes
Use of all community studio tools
Use of all community glazes
Extra practice time during student open studio hours (which will be posted in the studio). This is a drop-in anytime during posted hours; currently, there is no need to sign up ahead of time.
What you will need to purchase/bring separately
Please bring towels and/or an apron to help keep yourself clean!
Clay! You can choose out of several types of clay.
During the first class, you will get the opportunity to try most of the clay types to help you determine which clay you would like to purchase going forward. You are then encouraged to purchase your clay at the end of the class so you can come back during open studio hours and practice.
The purchase of clay includes all firings. Please note, only clay purchased in the studio may be used.

Just finished my 3rd round of classes at Bliss. The repetition in the beginner classes has helped me hone the basics of throwing. And with each class, I’m able to handle more clay and throw bigger pieces. Jaime is a wonderful teacher who has created such a welcoming and supportive studio.
