Try-It: 2 Hour Wheel Experience

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to throw on the wheel? Well, here's your chance! In this class, you will learn the basics of wheel throwing and will be able to create a piece or two to bring home. Grab some friends, or find some new ones during this 2 hour experience!

All you need to bring is a towel (or two), everything else will be provided for you!

What to Expect:

• Introduction to the Wheel: We’ll start with a demo to show you the process of centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping a basic vessel (usually a cup or bowl).
• Hands-On Practice: You’ll get your own wheel and clay to work with as the instructor guides you step-by-step. Expect some wobbly pots—it’s part of the process!
• Trimming & Finishing: The instructor will trim your pot once it is leather-hard, about 1-2 days later.
• Glazing: You have two options:
  • 1. Choose the color glaze you would like and the instructor will glaze it for you.
  • 2. Come back during open studio glaze hours, and glaze your own creation for a small additional fee (sign up on the website)
• Take Home Your Work: Your creation will be fired in a kiln and ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks.
• What to bring: Please bring a towel and/or apron to help keep yourself clean, all other materials will be provided for you. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to enjoy together!
